A series of six Heads-Up Races will be held throughout the NHRA Southeast Division in 2008.  US19 is excited to announce that our track was chosen to host one of these events on August 15-17, 2008.  Click on that event date on our calendar to view the event purses.  This exciting new series sanctioned by NHRA is outlined as follows:

Four index Classes: 6.0, 7.0, 4.70 Bodied, and 4.70 Dragsters
All run a .4 Pro tree ~ No break out allowed

Two Classes 6.0 and 7.0 Index  

  1. Only full bodied vehicles with full fenders, top, and operating doors.  

      No roadsters or altereds.

  1. All cars must meet the ET Rules as outlined in the NHRA 2008 Rules Book, no timed throttle or rpm controls.

All run qualified fields, laddered top to bottom each round. The first bye goes so the number 1 qualifier. The round the first bye is used will determine the next bye run. All subsequent byes are given based on the closest to the index without breaking out. All bye runs earned are kept until used.

Top Modified 4.70 Index 

  1. Only full bodied vehicles with full fenders, top, and operating doors. 

      No roadsters or altereds.

  1. All cars must meet the ET Rules as outlined in the NHRA 2008 Rules Book, no timed throttle or rpm controls.

The quickest 16 cars on a 4.70 Index without breaking out, qualified field, pro ladder, 1 runs 16, 2 runs 15, etc.

 

Pro Dragster 4.70 Index 
Ø      Dragsters, Roadsters, or Altereds, minimum wheel base 125”
Ø      All cars must meet the ET Rules as outlined in the NHRA 2008 Rules     
Book, no timed throttle or rpm controls.

The quickest 32 cars on a 4.70 Index without breaking out, qualified field, pro ladder, 1 runs 32, 2 runs 31, etc.

Points  Competitors in each of the four classes will earn points as outlined on the top of page 53 of the 2008 NHRA Rule Book.  No qualifying points will be awarded.  Points from all six races will count for the Division Championship.  Any tiebreakers will be settled as outlined in the NHRA Competition and Policy Procedure Manual.

Lane choice in round 1 will be determined by the best qualified car. After round 1 lane choice is determined by the vehicle closest to the index without breaking out.

Event winners will receive a Wally Trophy.

Division Points Champions in each class will receive a Champions Wally Trophy, a Jacket, a Gold Card for the 2009 season, and $1000.
